Veteran Recieves Vehicle Donation

Thanks to another generous supporter we were able to donate a vehicle to an NVHS Transitional Housing veteran and assist with registration and title costs! The veteran, Dennis, is now one step closer to permanent housing and self sufficiency. 🙂

Hospice of St. Francis- We Honor Veterans

Hospice of St. Francis is a Gold level Sponsor of NVHS Programs and has been caringly providing hospice services in Brevard since 1977.  Providing end of life care in the most dignified way with respect to individual needs and wishes. FREE Hepatitis A Vaccines

The Florida Department of Health has informed us of an increased prevalence of Hepatitis A Virus in Brevard County and is offering FREE Hepatitis A Vaccines Monday-Friday at the Titusville Clinic, 611 Singleton Ave., Titusville, FL. No Appointment necessary. Individuals who have not been vaccinated, are experiencing homelessness, currently use or have a history of drug use are at an increased risk of contracting Hepatitis A. One Veterans Story…..Michael Moran

We are proud to share the story of a triumphant veteran named Michael Moran who went from experiencing homelessness in 2018 to rekindling contact with his estranged family, and moving into permanent housing earlier this year. Michael's physical disabilities had prevented him from working full time and without income he found himself homeless, and separated from his wife and two sons. NVHS 2019 Fundraising Goals

This year we are looking to raise $145,000 in donations, and to date we have raised $20,369 toward that goal. In case your curious what these funds would be used for, below is a summary: 1. $31,000 for financial assistance to obtain, or retain, housing for homeless and at-risk veterans 2. $44,000 toward utility and maintenance costs for our 4 veteran transitional homes in Brevard 3. $25,000 toward the replacement of the roof at one of our Titusville transitional homes 4. $25,000 keeps our homeless outreach vehicles maintained and fueled [...]

City of Melbourne, Housing/ Financial Education Workshop

The Community Housing Initiative, Inc. will be hosting a free workshop on April 16, 2019 to help aspiring home owners establish a budget, set financial goals, prioritize spending habits, and understand affordability ratios and purchase price limits.
