In addition, Stuart Smith, the CEO of the Florida Association of Veteran Owned Businesses (FAVOB), has joined our board of directors.
Kasey Corson is a passionate advocate for veterans and their families. She joined NVHS in 2016 as Office Manager, where she oversaw daily operations, administrative tasks, and customer service. She also played a key role in coordinating our events, fundraising campaigns, and volunteer programs. As Community Relations Director, Kasey will lead the development and implementation of strategies to enhance our presence and impact within the community. She will also supervise and mentor staff and volunteers in order to ensure efficient operation of day-to-day activities.
Stuart Smith is a distinguished veteran leader with over 30 years of experience in business, human resources, and quality management. Stuart served with distinction during two enlistments as an Infantry soldier in the Army. He was recognized as the 9th Infantry Division, I Corps and US Forces Command (FORSCOM) Soldier of the Year in 1987. He is also a 100% service-connected disabled veteran. As a board member, Stuart will bring his expertise and insight to help guide and support NVHS’s mission and goals.
George Taylor Jr, President and Board Chair of NVHS, expressed his pride in the organization’s progress, stating, “The appointments of Kasey Corson and Stuart Smith are testaments to our commitment to leadership excellence and community engagement. Their passion and expertise will undoubtedly propel us towards our vision of ending veteran homelessness in Central Florida.”
