Why the Gala Matters
Hosted by National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS), our gala brings together veterans, families, donors, and community leaders in support of our mission: to eliminate homelessness among veterans in Central Florida.
Funds raised go directly to:
- Street-level outreach through our Search & Rescue program
- Crisis prevention services
- Transitional housing for veterans rebuilding their lives

Take K. Conry, an 81-year-old, low-income Army veteran living on just $900 a month in Social Security retirement. With rising costs and no family to fall back on, he was facing the very real threat of losing his housing because he couldn’t afford the lot rent for his mobile home.
That’s when NVHS stepped in.
While working with a partner agency to apply for his VA non-service-connected pension and increase his food stamp benefits, our team provided immediate relief by covering his rent and supplying groceries and daily necessities.
Today, thanks to that support and the successful benefits application, Mr. Conry has a stable monthly income and secure housing. He no longer worries about eviction. He’s safe. He’s supported. And he’s seen.
