By offering job opportunities, training programs, or mentorship, businesses can help veterans transition successfully into civilian careers while strengthening their workforce.

Your Contribution Changes Lives! Timothy C. Journey

veteran smilingAt 73 years old, Marine veteran Timothy Cornelison spent nearly a year homeless, camping in the woods. When he visited the House of Hope food pantry, the NVHS’s outreach team stepped in, connecting him with a VA caseworker to help him secure the benefits he had struggled to access for years.

With support from NVHS and the VA, Timothy was approved for VA Healthcare and HUD-VASH housing assistance. NVHS also provided furniture, household essentials, and guidance through the transition. Now, after nearly a year in his HUD-VASH apartment, he attends all his VA appointments, stays sober, and regularly participates in AA meetings.

Most importantly, Timothy has reconciled with his wife, something he once thought impossible.

Thanks to NVHS and community support, he has found stability, independence, and a renewed sense of hope.
