Annual Rescuing Veterans Lost in America Gala
The Annual Rescuing Veterans Lost in America Gala is more than a formal dinner—it’s a beacon of hope for those who once served and now find themselves in crisis.
Hosted annually by the Brevard County Constitutional Officers, this signature event raises critical funds to support National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS) programs that prevent and eliminate veteran homelessness across Central Florida.
NVHS has helped reduce veteran homelessness in Central Florida by over 90%, thanks to the ongoing support of sponsors, donors, and volunteers. That progress is only possible because individuals and organizations choose to stand with veterans through events like this one.
Whether attending for the first time or returning to continue your support, this Gala brings together community leaders, corporate sponsors, veterans, and compassionate citizens to share a common mission: ensuring no veteran is left behind.
Be part of the solution. Join us in transforming lives, one veteran at a time. Learn more, donate, or get involved today!
More Than a Night Out: Why the Gala Truly Matters
Each year, thousands of veterans struggle with housing insecurity, mental health challenges, and financial instability. The transition from military to civilian life isn’t always smooth—and without strong support systems, veterans can find themselves isolated and at risk of homelessness.
At NVHS, we believe every veteran deserves stability, dignity, and support. The Rescuing Veterans Lost in America Gala is vital in making this mission a reality. Funds raised through this annual event support:
- Emergency outreach and Search & Rescue efforts to find veterans in crisis.
- Transitional housing for those experiencing homelessness.
- Case management and benefit navigation to build long-term solutions.
- Basic needs support, including meals, hygiene kits, and essential supplies.
- Mental health referrals and follow-up care.
NVHS served over 500 individuals in a single year, including more than 350 veterans and 190 family members. Of those, 196 individuals avoided homelessness entirely, and 23 veterans were brought in from the streets and given a second chance at stability.
Without this work, local homelessness rates would have increased dramatically, especially among vulnerable veteran populations.
This isn’t just a fundraising dinner—it’s a rallying point for change. When we come together at the Gala, we help transform lives and strengthen our community.

Success Story: Keeping a Veteran Family Together and Housed
When Timothy, a U.S. Army veteran, lost his job, he and his wife faced a terrifying reality—providing for their four children without a roof over their heads. With no income and just three days to respond to an eviction notice, the family was on the verge of losing everything.
That’s when NVHS stepped in.
Our team immediately contacted the landlord to advocate on Timothy’s behalf. We negotiated to halt the eviction and covered a portion of the family’s overdue rent.
To ensure long-term stability, we worked out a manageable payment plan for the remaining balance—allowing Timothy and his family to remain in their home.
Without timely intervention, this veteran and his young family would have joined the growing number of those experiencing homelessness. Instead, they stayed together, stayed housed, and began rebuilding their lives with a sense of safety and dignity.
Your support makes this possible. One action and one donation can change everything for a veteran in crisis.
