Organize a Fundraiser

Why Organize a Fundraiser?

Organizing a fundraiser is a fantastic way to support our mission of helping homeless veterans and veteran families at risk of becoming homeless. Fundraisers not only raise essential funds but also increase awareness about our cause and engage the community in meaningful ways.

How to Organize a Fundraiser

We offer two flexible options for organizing a fundraiser:

Option 1: Use Our Online Form

We provide an easy-to-use online form to help you create your own fundraising campaign. Here’s how you can get started:

  1. Create a Campaign: Click Here to get started on your own fundraising campaign. You can set goals, add images, and tell your story to engage potential donors.
  1. Form Teams: Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to join your campaign by forming teams. Teams can compete to raise the most funds, adding a fun, competitive element to your fundraiser.
  1. Share Your Campaign: Use social media, email, and other channels to share your campaign and reach a wider audience. The platform makes it easy to share your campaign with built-in social sharing tools.
  1. Track Progress: Monitor your campaign’s progress with real-time updates and leaderboards. Celebrate milestones and keep your supporters motivated.

Option 2: Host Your Own Fundraising Event

If you prefer to host your own fundraising event, we are here to support you. Here’s how you can proceed:

  1. Plan Your Event: Choose the type of event you want to host, such as a charity walk, dinner, auction, or any other creative idea.
  1. Get Permission: Contact us to get permission to use our logos and branding in your promotional materials. We are happy to provide the necessary assets and guidelines.
  1. Coordinate Donations: Decide how you will collect donations—whether in person, online, or through the mail. We can assist with setting up online donation options if needed.
  1. Notify Us: Let us know about your event details, especially if you would like us to attend or if you plan to have a photo opportunity. We would love to support your event in person if possible.

Our Impact

Organizing a fundraiser can have a tremendous impact. In 2023, NVHS made significant strides in assisting veterans and their families, with a 36% increase in total clients assisted compared to 2022. We supported 353 veterans and 191 of their family members through our Search and Rescue Program and Transitional Housing Program. Additionally, our efforts helped reduce the homeless veteran population in Brevard County by 90%, from 1,800 in 2008 to less than 200 in 2024. These events not only provide financial support but also foster a sense of community and shared purpose. We also educate the public on Post Traumatic Stress and provide creative therapy events for our veterans, including arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and holiday-based activities to help reduce stress and foster a sense of belonging.

Specific Purpose Donations

While we greatly appreciate all donations and prefer to allocate funds where they are most needed, we understand that some donors may have specific purposes in mind for their contributions. If you would like your donation to be used for a specific purpose, please indicate this clearly in your submission. We will ensure that your contribution is allocated according to your wishes.
